About me

I am an artist based in Austin, Texas, working primarily with oil paints. Art is my second act. I began painting during the COVID-19 pandemic and eventually stepped away from a 20-year career as an Architect to pursue art full-time.

While my early work focused on still life and botanical subjects, my practice has evolved to center on portraiture and figure studies. I am deeply moved by how simple strokes of color on a canvas can evoke emotion, stir empathy and prompt self-reflection. People are inherently beautiful and I am continually fascinated by how light, color and form can not only capture a person’s likeness, but also convey the essence of who they are. Through my paintings, I strive to celebrate the unique beauty of each individual while reflecting the universal nature of human experience.
